Event Details:
When:
Apr 06, 2024
01:00 pm to 03:00 pm
Home Again: The Embodiment of Africa through Art and Fabric includes artists who recall their past while celebrating their future. This exhibition was inspired by Yaa Gyasi’s book, Homegoing.
The artwork of Chesley Antoinette, Chepape Makgato, Woodrow Nash, Francine Terry, and the rich tradition of Gee's Bend embody the essence of homegoing. Home Again is curated by Dr. Tameka Ellington, and complements the Massillon Museum’s NEA Big Read programming for 2024.
Join us for the exhibition reception on Saturday, April 6, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. during the NEA Big Read Kickoff.
NEA Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest. For more information about the 2024 NEA Big Read in Massillon, and for a full list of all of programs in Massillon, Stark County, and beyond, please visit www.MassillonMuseum.org/BigRead.
