News Release:  Massillon Museum to Host Calligraphy Workshop

The Massillon Museum will offer a calligraphy workshop on Tuesday, May 12, 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Instructor Gary Spangler will welcome beginners and intermediates of all ages.

All materials will be included in the class fee: $30 ($25 per Museum member). Massillon Museum classes are open to the public. Pre-registration is required for this workshop by May 7. Students may register by phone, by mail, or in person using cash (exact change), checks, or credit cards. The calligraphy workshop is part of The Big Read. This year—the Massillon Museum’s eighth year to receive the prestigious National Endowment for the Arts grant—the local book selection is Old School by Tobias Wolff. Local partners include the Massillon Public Library; Stark Parks; Kent State University and Kent State University at Stark; Massillon/North Canton Elks #2029; Rotary Club of Massillon; the Massillon Area Chamber of Commerce; Washington High School Drama Department; the Stark County Convention and Visitors’ Bureau; and many community volunteers. The Massillon Museum is located at 121 Lincoln Way East (Ohio Route 172) in downtown Massillon.  Free parking is available on adjacent streets and in the nearby city lots and parking deck.
