Brandon Rohrer Is New MassMu Guest Operations Associate

News Release:  Brandon Rohrer Is New MassMu Guest Operations Associate

Brandon Rohrer, the Massillon Museum’s new guest operations associate, is responsible for volunteers and the Museum shop, OHregionalities.

“I like to work with people and I’m eager to work with the Museum’s special team in an atmosphere of art and history,” he said. “I’m especially interested in the way art and history relate to each other at MassMu.”

“Brandon brings enthusiasm, professionalism, and fresh ideas to the Massillon Museum that I'm confident will enhance our volunteer engagement and make the shop a destination for unique gifts and souvenirs,” said Massillon Museum Executive Director Alexandra Nicholis Coon.

Rohrer’s immediate plans for the volunteer program include streamlining the application process and helping volunteers get to know each other. He is particularly seeking front desk receptionists and bulk mailing volunteers, and will soon be recruiting Island Party volunteers for the annual reggae night on July 15.

His ideas for the shop include increased pairing of shop items with gallery exhibitions so guests can enjoy an immersive experience by taking home items to show friends and remember their Museum visit. He will continue to focus on locally crafted art, trendy gifts, and books related to exhibitions and local history.

A graduate of Timken Senior High School, Rohrer previously served as facilities manager at the McKinley Presidential Library and Museum, where he also presented planetarium programs—which he will continue to do. Astronomy and technology are his special interests.

The Massillon Museum receives operating support from the Ohio Arts Council and ArtsinStark to supplement its primary local funding.
