November 14, 2020  Art Is a Frequency, A Conversation with Cyrus Ausar, moderated by Helen Severovich

Art has the ability to help us navigate the most challenging of times, like those we are universally experiencing in this moment of the pandemic. Have you ever considered the ways in which the choices you make each day are reflections of your creative and artistic inclinations? From the way you dress, to how you decorate your living space, and even how you load your dishwasher, each action is an artistic expression of you. The word "art" conjures different images and concepts for different people. Whether our musical preferences are more Dolly Parton or Def Leopard, or taste in artists more Botticelli or Basquiat, the art we're drawn to, whatever form it assumes, makes us feel something. Just as all forms of self-expression are valid, so are our artistic preferences.

Join us for a conversation in which we consider the ways in which we seek validation as artists of our own canvases. Featuring Cyrus Ausar, suicide prevention expert and former musician, and facilitated by Helen Severovich, art therapist, the dialogue will address how we relate to one another along frequencies, oftentimes artistic frequencies. The conversation will be hosted via Zoom for Massillon Museum members beginning at 7:00pm EST. To register click here.
