The Massillon Museum is an art and history museum in Massillon, Ohio. It has over 100,000 items in its collection. It changes exhibitions several times a year, and boasts 3 floors of art and history exhibitions, along with classroom and meeting space.
Admission to the Museum is FREE and tours with museum staff or docents are also FREE. Group visits and guided tours must be booked in advance, to ensure availability.
The Museum is a “one stop shop” for earning badges and other advancement programs for all ages of girls and boys in the Scouts. Our programs will meet most, or all of, your requirements. Programs last from 1-2 ½ hours, depending on the size of the group and activities, and may include guided tours, lectures, multi-media presentations, object handling, arts and crafts.
Troop leaders will be provided with a detailed curriculum for the advancement program based on the official Scout requirements. We may ask your group to do a little homework beforehand or to bring in items (favorite toy, photographs, news articles, etc.) depending on the requirements of the program. Costs are per Scout and include all information, printed materials, art supplies, or further guidance to meet the requirements of the advancement.
A minimum of 7 Scouts is required to hold a Program (maximum 50).
